Kagoshima (鹿児島県, Kagoshima-ken), often called the "Naples of the East," is famous for its active volcano, Sakurajima, and the lush, remote island of Yakushima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The prefecture is also known for its Kurobuta (black pork) cuisine. The capital city is Kagoshima.
