Miyagi (宮城県, Miyagi-ken), located in the Tohoku region, is best known for Matsushima Bay, one of Japan’s three most scenic views. The prefecture is also home to Sendai, the largest city in Tohoku, famous for the Tanabata Festival and gyutan (grilled beef tongue).
